Keep it Pixel
If there’s one thing that really stands out about the newly announced Google Pixel 6, it's its gorgeous design especially when compared to other releases this year. That’s not to say that the iPhone 13. Galaxy S21 or Galaxy A52 aren’t easy on the eyes, but the Pixel 6’s unique build and finish really stand out in a manner that just stays etched in your mind. In a move that will surprise nobody, the Pixel 6 alongside its older sibling does not include a headphone or a Micro SD Card slot, although according to Wired it will come in 128GB & 256GB variants. It’s powered by Google’s customer Tensor chip, which looks to be a real game changer here. To simplify the Jargon and information on Google’s page, with the Tensor chip you can expect machine-learning that makes using every aspect of your device more efficient than ever before. You can even expect your selfies and other photos to be taken up a notch (yes, we had to) with Night Sight, HDR and image stabilization all taken to the next level.
It doesn’t just end there though as the Tensor chip beefs up security as well and in a time where opportunistic scammers are doing all they can to make a quick buck, the increased protection is without doubt more than welcome. Apart from the Tensor chip, the Pixel 6 will of course have 5G, offer a smooth 90Hz refresh rate on a 1080p 6.4-inch display plus an impressive 8GB of RAM. It's basically Pixel perfect and while you're at it, why not check out our Pixel 6 accessories?
Professional Pixel
The Pixel 6 Pro is Google’s debut with the “Pro” naming convention, moving away from its XL line. As to be expected, the Pixel 6 Pro is everything awesome about the Pixel 6, only bigger, faster and stronger. According to The Verge and Google, we’ll see a 1440p display with a silky-smooth adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, plus there’s an impressive 12GB of RAM so your multiple tabs, apps and whatever else you put your device through daily won’t slow the Pixel 6 Pro to a halt. Google calls the Pixel 6 Pro it’s fastest & smartest Pixel yet which is totally not a subtle jab at Apple’s description of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Also, expect 5G connectivity alongside a generous 5000mAh battery for all day performance. Yes, Google wants to take on the heavyweights and we look forward to seeing where this goes. In the meantime get ready with our Pixel 6 Pro accessories!
Pixels in Photos
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro don’t just want to offer great specs when it comes to your instagram addiction, but they want to change how you take your photos while making it more efficient than ever before. The Pixel 6 comes bundled with a Dual rear camera system with 50 MP wide & 12 MP ultrawide cameras alongside an 8MP front camera. The Pixel 6 Pro takes it a step further with a Triple rear camera system, 50 MP wide,12 MP ultrawide and 48 MP telephoto cameras with a 11.1MP front camera. Both come bundled with LDAF sensors for unparalleled precision when taking photos.
One feature we guarantee you’ll fall in love with is Google’s Magic Eraser. This will allow you to easily remove distractions and anything else you’d rather not want in your pictures, ensuring you won’t need to crop out an image to remove objects or people ruining your images. There’s also Motion Mode for when you’d like to add a bit more action to your selfies, Portrait Mode which adds a background blur plus overall improvements such as more detail, and for faces in your pictures to be captured without blur. Google also claims the Pixel 6 has 150% more light than the Pixel 5 while more accurately portraying colours. It’s a photographer's dream!
Safe and Secure
Let’s be frank, this pandemic has given scammers endless opportunities when it comes to your data and device. It’s fair to say that the need for a device that takes security seriously has never been more necessary than before. The strategy has worked very well for Apple so far plus face it (no pun intended), your smartphone basically contains the details of your existence. The Titan M2 security chip is brave enough to withstand the worst of scammers and viruses, giving you the peace of mind that should come with a new device. Not only that, but you’ll get a generous five years of security updates. You heard that correctly five years of protection against the worst of today’s scammers. Qualcomm, manufacturer of the Snapdragon chips seen in previous Pixel devices and other Android phones actually expressed dismay at Google for not adopting it’s range, but then again with this security and stability, who's complaining?
The reveals and leaks just keep coming, and if there’s anything we’ve learnt from Google’s Pixel 6 reveal, it's that Google is truly ready to dust off those boxing gloves and step into the ring. The rise of competition against the smartphone heavyweights is without a doubt fantastic for us consumers as we saw with Oppo’s Find X3 Series and perhaps Samsung and Apple may be pushed to innovate even further! For everything to do with this developing smartphone battle and everything else Pixel, keep a watchful eye on our Smart Blogs.
