smartphonesshop.com.au - While we’ve just gotten our hands on the iPhone 13, the leakers are at it again much to the furore of Apple but to our delight! It’s no secret that we’ll be seeing an iPhone 14 very soon, but what is even more interesting are Apple’s plans for the third iteration of its much beloved SE Series. The road is looking good ahead for the Apple fans so check out why there’s plenty to be excited about in 2022.
iPhone 14 Leaks!
iPhone: 14
While the iPhone 13 was released to rave reviews, many were expecting a much needed revamp. Sure the old saying “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” rings (pun intended) true here, but even the most ardent and stubborn fans will eventually want to see changes. The iPhone 14 looks to be bringing them, alongside a design that without a doubt already looks better than the iPhone 13. iPhone 14 renders were leaked by you guessed it, Front Page Tech and we’re already feeling our iPhone 13 devices may be obsolete. The design looks to be the biggest change Apple has made for quite a while and harkens back to older iPhones similar to the iPhone 12, yet still retaining a stunning and modern design. It looks like even the biggest Samsung fans might be tempted!
Notch a Problem
What really stands out from the renders is the lack of a notch. Yes, if these leaks turn out to be true the iPhone 14 might actually be completely notch-less, relying on a hole-punch design instead. It’s certainly a welcome change as more screen space is always needed and welcome. The rumours do seem to be divided over this claim though, as according to MacRumors we may still see the notch but the Pro & Pro Max variants of the iPhone 14 will be free from it. It’s also worth noting that MacRumors states there are no details on how Face ID will be integrated without the notch, but we’ll have to wait and see, literally. You won’t find us missing the notch though.
The Touch
Another feature that’s set to make a comeback is Touch ID. While Face ID has been Apple’s preferred alternative to the humble passcode, many still prefer the trusty old Touch ID, and its return has been much discussed, last seen in the iPhone SE 2020. According to Tom’s Guide and @LeaksApplePro, Touch ID is set to return in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. They’ve also mentioned bad news for fans of the iPhone 13 Mini and iPhone 12 Mini, as there purportedly will not be an iPhone 14 Mini. The Mini variant in the last two iPhone releases was the least popular, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody.
Special Edition: Volume 3
The iPhone 14 leaks aren’t all that are making waves in the industry, as the sequel to the iPhone SE 2020 is also hotly rumoured to be released soon. 9to5Mac has reported it’s possible the iPhone SE 2022’s design will be based on the iPhone XR although reports have been conflicting as further leaks state the 4.7-inch iPhone 8 inspired design will be making a return. 5G capabilities and beefier specs are also on the table, although no word if it will include the A14 Bionic chip, much like the iPhone SE 2020 utilised the same chip as the iPhone 11. 9to5Mac also reports that leaker Ross Young claims that the iPhone SE 2022 will actually be called the iPhone SE Plus, and will include a 4.7-inch LCD screen bundled with 5G. It makes sense though, with Apple choosing to can the iPhone 14 Mini and to focus on the new SE model as their budget device aimed at those who prefer a smaller screen. We were quite fond of the iPhone SE 2020, so count us excited that Apple has greenlit a sequel.
While we’re no doubt enjoying what the iPhone 13 Series has to offer, we can’t help but want bigger change and more innovation, which is what the iPhone 14 is set to deliver. The iPhone SE 2022 also looks to really improve upon Apple’s budget formula and with that, we may finally be getting our wish. Either way, 2022 is going to be a very interesting year for Apple Indeed. For everything to do with Apple Leaks, keep an eye on our Smart Blogs!
