More Juicy iPhone 12 Leaks

smartphonesshop.com.au - We promised you more juicy iPhone 12 leaks, didn’t we? We’re happy to say that as the rumoured October release date comes closer, more information is starting to leak. From new designs, colours and silky smooth 120HZ screens, the wait for the iPhone 12 is becoming harder than ever for us. The lead up is always exciting but read on to see why we’re more than intrigued for this year’s iPhone release.

Old School Cool

As we mentioned in our previous article about the iPhone 12 leaks, more and more insiders are beginning to confirm the iPhone 4 and iPad Pro inspired design. We’re loving the mockups that the most dedicated fans are coming up with. According to MacRumors, we may even see light blue, navy, violet and light orange colours. Also, if the rumours from Japanese site Mac Otakara are to be believed, expect a stainless steel finish that will replace the curved edges you've become familiar with over the years.

Straight To Da Bank

Now, this rumour could be the killer feature that will entice many to upgrade, and it's something that Apple tested not too long ago with their iPhone SE 2020. The rumour mill is saying that Apple could release their flagship iPhone this year at a cheaper price than usual. According to Tom's Guide, we'll see the standard 5.4-inch iPhone 12 starting at $649 US and the beastly 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max going for $699 US. According to MacRumorsanalyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the iPhone 12 won't include EarPods or even a charger in the box, with only a Lightning-to-USB cable included in order to reduce rising manufacturing costs as a result of including 5G.

It doesn't just stop there, as Apple is also rumoured to be releasing an even cheaper version of the iPhone 12 for $549 US! Minus the 5G of course, but you can't deny that it would be a fantastic price for a flagship phone. Will we see another case of the iPhone experience without the iPhone price as we did with the iPhone SE 2020? Only time will tell.

iPhone 12 Leaks

Still Playing The Name Game

While this is pure speculation, it's likely this year's iPhone may not even be called iPhone 12. It's possible it may be called the iPhone 20 or even drop the number altogether. If Apple does choose to call it the iPhone 12, it risks making itself look behind Samsung with its S20 release. Would you like an iPhone 12 or Galaxy S20? See what we mean?

Lightning Speed

Was that 5W charger that shipped with your iPhone 11 Pro Max not good enough? If so, you'll be happy to hear that this year's release will ship with a fast charging, 20W charger. Oh, and before we forget, it's actually been confirmed! That's right, the iPhone 12/20 charger has been made official by NEMKO, Norway's public certification process. Perhaps the most interesting feature is USB-C compatibility. Yes, it seems like the beloved lightning cable will finally be retired as we previously speculated. It's a far cry from the rumours which stated that the iPhone 12/20 would be the last to use a lightning cable. With four variations set for release, will we see some use Lightning while others with USB-C? Maybe even a version that only supports wireless? Whatever it is, the Lightning cable may be in its last days.

Just Like Real Life, Only Better

Fresh of iOS 14's "inspirations" from Android, it seems that Apple is getting acquainted with the S20's features. According to Forbes, Prominent Samsung Insider Ice Universe has claimed that 120hz screens are all but confirmed for this year's iPhone release. With Samsung supplying the displays for iPhones, it's no surprise seeing Samsung insiders with this information. Those who signed up to the iOS 14 beta have also noticed an option to reduce the frame rate. We think we'll move this from the rumour list to the practically confirmed one.

Sweet, Sweet 5G

This year's iPhone 12, iPhone 20 or iPhone infinite (whatever it's called!) will truly make you appreciate the wonders of 5G if the speculation is to be believed. According to 9TO5 Mac, 5G connectivity is definitely on the cards, but we may even see support for mmWave and sub-6GHz bands combined with an LCP antenna for the smoothest mobile broadband experience yet. No more slow uploads of your weekend selfies!

Better Late Than Never

So now the most important question? When is it going to be released? Due to COVID-19 and the havoc it has released on manufacturing, rumours are now sitting between a September to October release. Prominent Apple leaker Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech is saying that due to manufacturing delays, we should expect to see everything in October, from the reveal to the complete release. It's certainly viable, and not out of character for Apple to skip it's usual September date, especially with the release of the iPhone X back in November 2017.

As we move closer to the supposed release date, the waiting game becomes harder than ever as everything new we learn about the new iPhone, makes us want it more than ever. Whatever Apple decides to name it, expect this year's iPhone to redefine what you would expect an iPhone to be. Stay tuned to our Smart Blogs for all the Juicy leaks!
