Take Notes
While not being in the same league as it’s beefier Ultra sibling, the Note20 is still a solid phablet. Going for a cheaper price than its Ultra version, it is the definitive phablet to own in 2020 for those looking at an affordable yet powerful device. Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with a beautiful Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O display at a resolution of 2400 x 1080P, it’s still a great choice for those who may not be too enticed by the Note20 Ultra’s upgrades. Sure, Samsung fanboys may snoff at the idea of a budget version of their beloved Note range, but you can’t deny that the Note20 is a fantastic introduction to the Note series for those who think that Galaxy phones are all that Samsung manufactures.
The three cameras with their 64MP telephoto alongside the 12MP main and ultrawide lens will truly make you appreciate the power of the Note20, with their ability to capture nearly every detail. Let’s not forget the Super AMOLED we mentioned earlier which will bring your pictures to life with eye-popping detail, topped off with an S Pen for the ultimate in convenience and precision. The plastic finish has been scrutinised by many, especially compared to the Note20 Ultra’s glass finish, but we know to trust Samsung. They recently told Android Authority that the Note 20’s plastic design actually helps the Note 20 to deliver more power and performance at a reduced price. There's also a powerful 4300mAh battery which should help you power through the day and IP68 rated water resistance for those inevitable spills, alongside a generous 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage being part of the overall package. So yes, while the Note20 may miss out on features such as a 120HZ refresh rate and even expandable storage, for those looking for a simple phablet at a decent price, you can’t go wrong with the Galaxy Note20.
Super Ultra Plus Extended Edition
This is the game-changer, the phablet we’ve dreamed of for years. We’ve had a great run with our Note10 Plus and would love to stay loyal to it, but after seeing the Note 20 Ultra, that isn’t going to be easy. We’re at a loss for words to describe how beautiful the Note20 Ultra is. The S Pen, sleek glass and metal finish feel make the Note 20 Ultra unlike any phone or phablet you’ve ever held. The jaw-droppingly mesmerising Quad HD resolution at 3088 x 1440P with a 6.9 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X edge display is a feast for the eyes, especially combined with the 108MP main camera and 8K video resolution. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus processor, 12GB of Ram and buttery smooth 120HZ refresh rate will make even the most rudimentary tasks look as stylish as ever, alongside lightning-fast speeds for more demanding applications.
With an option for 256GB or 512GB and expandable storage, you’re unlikely to run out of space anytime soon. We’re also treated to a whopping 4500mAh battery which will ensure that your Note 20 Ultra will make it to the end of the day with even some juice leftover for your social media binge when you should be sleeping. The tough Gorilla Glass & and IP68 rated water resistance will make drops, spills and bumps no match at all. The Note20 Ultra is smart, sexy and strong so what more could you want? It’s almost like Samsung has been reading our minds, which we’d say is a little concerning, but if it means that they’ll come up with devices this good, they can read ours all they like.
Notes Taken So Far
This year hasn’t been the kindest to us, but with the Galaxy S20 range and now the Note20 range, we’ve almost forgotten about how bad this pandemic has been so far. Those who appreciate simplicity yet need power will find plenty to love about the Note 20, and if you’re a fanboy, there’s not much more convincing you’ll need to get the Note20 Ultra. It truly is a redefinition of what a phablet can be!
